The Royal Bank of Scotland are preparing to pay out more than one billion pounds to it's investment bankers even though 14 billion in bad debt plunges them into the red.
The BoS is 84% owned by the taxpayer.

Probably the same way they do here. They say they need these bonuses to keep the best and brightest minds in the business ! They will say this money is owed by contract. Wouldn't an economic earthquake justify some change? Absolutely incredible what goes on in the world of finance and politics, thing sthat you and I as individuals wouldn't dream of trying to do. Aye fine job they all did handling the economy to begin with.

I don't know how they justify their salaries, never mind the bonuses.

Some of the banking executives in this country deserve to be binned. The majority of the banking executives in this country deserve a prison cell!

Although if greedy Americans hadn't taken up the offers of stupidly easy credit, we wouldn't be in this situation. Hello, if you're negotiating a deal with a banker (read: thief) and it seems too good to be true, IT IS!

Aye, between the thieving grasping politiciand bankers, nae wonder there is a recession.
Apparently also, if you are a wealthy pensioner and vacate this country over the winter and go to sunny climes, you are still entitled to the pensioner's winter heating allownce for the elderly, even if you are not resident during the winter.
